The next generation of  Atom  processors with improved performance and less heat generation:

Over the last two years, the Intel Atom has developed into a quasi-standard for energy-saving systems that do not need a fan. The N270/945GSE and Z510/US15W CPU/chipset combination is on Intel's Embedded roadmap and will be available at least until 2015.

A new generation - why?

With its D410 and D510 Atom processors, Intel is now taking things to the next level. The main difference with the new processors is that the memory controller and graphics core have been integrated into the CPU. Therefore, you will not find a northbridge in the case of the "Pineview" platform. This offers advantages in terms of power consumption. Pineview systems save up to 40% more energy in comparison with older "Diamondville" solutions.

Most important technical information

As there is no longer a northbridge (memory controller hub - MCU), the CPU takes care of the graphics interfaces. Apart from VGA, LVDS can also be used. However, only a signal channel 18-bit signal is supported here. But some of our products are equipped with additional hardware to get around this limitation. In terms of RAM, the CPU can handle more than the earlier platform: Up to 4 GB DDR2-667 RAM is supported.

The D510 is especially interesting where performance is concerned. This processor has two Atom cores. If performance and power consumption are important, the D510 offers an excellent compromise.

Products

The first products based on the new technology will be available in June. However, you can already order samples from us now.

ECM-PNV

The ECM-PNV is a 3.5" board with a D510 processor. 2-channel, 24-bit, LCD panels can be operated if additional hardware is fitted. It has two Gigabit network interfaces, six COM ports, six USB ports, one LPT interface and a mini-PCIe slot. Also the board can be operated using a voltage ranging from 12 to 26 V DC.

JNF96

If you require a more cost-effective solution, the JNF96 is available with a D410 and D510 processor. It is based on the mini-ITX form factor. It has a Gbit network interface, 9x USB 2.0, 2x COM, 1x LPT, VGA, mini-PCIe, 18-bit LVDS, eSATA, GPIO and a direct 12 V connection. Furthermore, a wide range of additional plug-in boards is available for this board. Depending on your requirements, you can, for example, fit serial interfaces, a network, DVI or other items.

IBX-300

As well as boards, we are also in a position to offer an extensive range of full systems. For instance, the IBX-300 box PC is a fanless system with a D510 processor. Thanks to the Dual Core, computationally intensive applications can also be carried out with the box PC. Therefore, it has eight video inputs, with which real time video recordings can be made.

WStrider 300A

The WStrider 300A is a rugged box PC that is mainly used in ships, buses and other environments where there is a lot of vibration and dirt. It has a wide range mains adaptor and can therefore be powered with 9 to 36 VDC. The system has isolated CAN and COM interfaces and is expandable as per the PC-104 standard.
